Q. IF I MESS UP THE FIRST TIME MOLDING MY DECIBULLZ CAN I TRY AGAIN?

A. Yes! Decibullz are the only earphones in the world that are re-moldable. You can keep molding them until you get the perfect fit.

YES!

Decibullz are the only earphones in the world that are re-moldable.

You can keep molding them until you get the perfect fit.

Q. WHAT IF MY EARPLUGS DON'T FIT?

A. If the earplugs do not fit after molding, all you have to do is remold to get a better fit. Just go through the remolding steps again. You can remold as many times as needed to get that perfect fit. If there are any rough or sharp edges, put back into the water for 2-3 minutes then smooth the rough edges with your fingers until smooth.

Q. I HAVE A COMFORTABLE MOLD, BUT I CAN STILL HEAR SURROUNDING NOISE.

A. If you think you have a good mold and just need more noise isolation, move up to a larger size of foam tips.

Q.

WHAT IF ONE SIDE FITS BETTER THAN THE OTHER SIDE?

A.

If you find that one ear fits better than another, sometimes each side can require a different size of tip. So please use any combination needed to ensure a great fit. (Example would be a small foam tip in the right ear and medium foam or silicone in the left ear).

Q.

THE MOLD SEEMS UNCOMFORTABLE AFTER A FEW HOURS OF USE, HOW CAN I MAKE IT MORE COMFORTABLE?

A.

If the molding material goes under the folds or ridges of your ear it can become uncomfortable. Remold the earplugs and make sure that all the molding material is contained in just the concha (bowl) of the ear.

WHAT IS THE NOISE REDUCTION RATING FOR DECIBULLZ?

Q.

WILL DECIBULLZ WORK IF I HAVE SMALL EARS?
WILL DECIBULLZ FIT CHILDREN?

A.

Yes and yes. However for very small ears we recommend using scissors to cut off some of the molding material.when it is warm. Don't forget to save these pieces though as with a growing child, you can add the bits back on as their ears grow over time.

Q.

WILL DECIBULLZ WORK IF I HAVE BIG EARS?

A.

If you have large ears, try to create more of a shell than a plug-- this helps cover the concha (bowl) of the ear.

PERCUSSIVE VS CUSTOM MOLDED, WHATS THE DIFFERENCE?

The Custom Molded Earplugs have a continuous noise reduction rating of 31. They are designed for consistent noise reduction across all decibel ranges.
The Percussive Filters are designed to block out loud percussive noises while still allowing ambient noise to pass through. Attached is a chart with the filter noise reduction rating so that you can see the different ratings at the different levels.
Both are going to be good options. It will be up to your personal preference if you want specific protection against loud, sudden sounds or protection across the same range.

Q.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HIGH FIDELITY AND PRO?

A.

The Professional High Fidelity Earplugs are the perfect choice for musicians, professionals, or anyone else who requires extreme sound accuracy. The Pro's reduce all frequencies by approximately the same level.
The High Fidelity Earplugs are perfect for those attending concerts, sporting events, have sound sensitivity, and also, anyone wanting to reduce noise while still maintaining sound accuracy. These reduce frequencies to a safer level without distorting the sound.

Q.

I HAVE PIERCINGS IN THE CONCHA OF MY EAR, CAN I USE THESE?

A.

We recommend that you do not mold with any in-ear piercings. The piercings must be removed before molding as the molding material may adhere to the piercings.

Q.

Custom Molded Earplug v. Percussive Filter ?

A.

Both are great options, but dependent on the situation and use case. It will be up to your personal preference if you want specific protection against loud, sudden sounds or consistent hearing protection across all decibel ranges.

If you need consistent noise reduction, you will want the Custom Molded Earplugs.

If you need protection against loud sudden noises, while still hearing your surroundings, the Percussive Filters are the best option.  However, if you intend to use at an Indoor Shooting Range, please double up on hearing protection or slowly enter the environment with the Percussive Filters properly in place to ensure they are working in that specific situation. Not all Indoor Ranges are the same.

Q.

Can i wear my Decibullz under a motor bike helmet?

A.

The choice of hearing protection is personal to you. Some prefer to block out the noise, some opt for high fidelity filters to hear more and others use the security plugs for a communication system.

Feedback has taught us that there are lots of varying factors that effect suitability. Some helmets are so tight fitting it puts pressure on the mold when in the ear. Some helmets have built in ear cups which don't allow any room for any earplugs. Some are perfect and there is no issues whatsoever.

Experience has shown that sometimes, the mold can be trimmed down when warm so there is less material of the mold and producing a slimmer profile in the ear to avoid contact with the helmet. If you are in any doubt, get i touch. We cannot comment on helmet suitability due to there being so many different types, but we will help where we can.
